The first phase of our global patent strategy under the International Patent Cooperation Treaty (which covers in excess of 140 countries) has now been in place for the past 5 years. This initial phase covering wine producing countries and established consumers markets (G8 countries around the World) has been an outstanding success with patents already granted for our Vinsafe ™ technology in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the European Union (25 member countries) and patents pending in the USA, Canada, etc. The second phase of this patent strategy is now also underway with patents pending in the new consumer markets of China, India, Russia, Brazil etc.
